Matthew has been performing professionally as a singer and as a leading man onstage for 25 years. He has performed recently with the Broadway Palm / Gulf Coast Symphony, Venice Theatre and The Players in Sarasota.  Recent credits include Dad in Billy Elliot The Musical, George in La Cage aux Folles and George in She Loves Me.

Matthew is a tenor with a large vocal range that allows him to sing baritone broadway and Sinatra standards. He has performed one man shows at some of the finest hotels, restaurants and retirement communities in Maine, New Hampshire and Florida. His one man shows include the best songs from Broadway, the songs of Al Jolson, a mix of Broadway and Jazz standards, the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, love songs in February, the songs of Irving Berlin, and Christmas favorites. Matthew is always learning new music and loves throwing in surprises. Having had the honor of singing frequently for the late Bob Crewe, he loves singing songs that Mr. Crewe wrote for Frankie Valli or songs he recommended for Matthew. His daughter is also encouraging him to learn more Elvis Presley songs. Matthew is a Freemason and is often asked to perform an evening of songs written or performed by famous Freemasons. He has a large repertoire of music and is often invited to perform regularly at venues. Matthew is sure to include songs that are appropriate near Patriotic Holidays, St. Patrick’s Day, Hanukkah, Halloween etc. He loves taking requests from his audience. Matthew has always been an active member of the Episcopal Church and has sung with many choirs and as a soloist at religious services.  

Matthew was born and raised in Maine and holds a BA in theatre from The University of Southern Maine where he also studied voice. He is an award winning High School Drama Coach/Director who spent his last 4 years in Maine coaching his daughter Brenna in High School. Brenna is currently studying to be a music teacher at FSC in Lakeland, Florida. She collaborated with her father as Musical Director for several productions Matthew directed including his last production of The Spirit of Life. Matthew was named Educator of The Year by The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine for this production. Brenna is Matthew’s pride and joy. Matthew also taught acting classes and directed musical theatre camps at the same dance studio his daughter and actress Anna Kendrick learned to dance. Matthew even had the opportunity to perform with Anna (Gertude) during a dance recital as Horton in a Seussical production number.
